About Us


The Alcuin School mission is to create children who are informed, self-motivated and self-disciplined and to meaningfully involve parents in their children’s education.


Alcuin School is a small preschool where faculty, parents and children can focus on common curricular and behavior goals.

Enrollment Alcuin School serves ages three through six. Age requirements are flexible.

Schedule Alcuin School offers a preschool program for ages three to six from mid-September through mid-June. Hours are 9:30 to 12:30 Monday through Thursday for threes and 8:30 to 12:30 Monday through Friday for fours and fives.

Location Conveniently located in a quiet residential area on top of Queen Anne, Alcuin School is close to a library, community center, swimming pool and three parks. To reach Alcuin School, take the Mercer Street exit and turn right on Queen Anne Avenue. Drive up the hill to the blinking traffic light and turn at Starbucks onto West Boston. Alcuin School is on West Boston and Third Ave West at 216 West Boston.

Faculty Christine Williams worked for twenty years as an A.M.I. Montessori educator before returning to school for a Master in Teaching (MiT) with an Elementary Teacher Certificate and Early Childhood Endorsement. She is trained in Linguistic Remedies and Handwriting Without Tears and specializes in the needs of young learners. She operated the children's house on Queen anne from 1991 to 2001 and has operated Alcuin School since 2002. Lynn Beasley has operated the Children's Dance Workshop on Queen Anne since 1988.
